Education

Education should empower young people to actively shape a just and sustainable society.

Latest news: Good Life Schools programme expands into primary schools. See more.

Today’s education system is not fit for purpose.
Exam performance, standardisation and short-term outcomes are being prioritised over deeper learning that equips young people with the skills, values and agency needed to navigate an uncertain world.

Education must be a powerful tool for change, moving beyond preparing young people for success within the world as it is and instead enabling them to help transform it.
Through embedding transformative learning that helps young people explore their values, develop compassion and critical thinking, and build the confidence to take action with others, education can empower young people to respond to the biggest challenges of our time – from climate and nature breakdown to social division. We work to demonstrate what this kind of education looks like in practise and build momentum for wider systems change.

Transforming our World: our network of over 8000 educators in the UK are empowering young people to take action locally with an annual Youth summit that amplifies this worldwide.

The change we want to see

We want to work with young people, educators, and decision makers to create an education system that empowers young people with the skills, values and agency to take real-world action on the issues they care about.

This year, we are focused on embedding active citizenship, climate and sustainability education into new education frameworks and the Education Act.

We will continue to cultivate a network of teachers and education leaders championing and demonstrating the value of transformative learning approaches across multi-academy trusts and the wider education system.

If you’d like to be a part of this change, we want to hear from you. Get in touch to explore how we can work together to ensure education is fit for purpose.

When education nurtures young people’s values, critical thinking and collective agency, it does more than prepare them for the world - it empowers them to change it.
