It’s Global Action Plan’s goal that by 2030, every child leaves school prepared to act collectively for the good of people and planet.

We brought over 30 years of educational experience to our work with the Prince’s Trust, where we developed learning materials for young people about the future green economy.

This followed the launch of The Prince’s Trust’s report ‘The Future of Work’ which highlighted that young people want to work in emerging green industries. However, it also found that there was a significant knowledge and skills gap relating to how young people access green careers.

The content we created went on to provide young people with an understanding of the green economy: what it is, its importance, what jobs there are, and the different careers paths young people can take in related sectors. Our resources supported young people to draw on their interests, values and beliefs to consider future opportunities and career options.

I enjoyed making my own podcast [on Careers in the Green Economy] as it made me reflect on everything I learnt.

We created an education module on Careers in the Green Economy to support young people understand the green economy and their role within it

The module was hosted and accessible to students on The Prince’s Trust Achieve programme, which helps 11- to 19-year-olds develop the skills and confidence they need to reach their goals, through relevant, engaging and informal learning.

Global Action Plan provided sustainability subject matter expertise to create learning materials for young people about the future green economy. Our contribution to this project included:

  • Leading on the creation, idea generation, research and writing of bespoke learning materials on the topic of the green economy

  • Development of a learning framework which outlines knowledge and key skills for the programme of study

  • Creation of a high-quality session plan and suite of learning resources, co-designed and pioneered by teachers and young people aged 11-18 in an iterative design cycle

Global Action Plan brought our vision to life. With the aim to introduce the Green Economy to our young people and get them inspired about future career opportunities, the team demonstrated expertise and attention to detail in their development of interactive, informative and impactful classroom-based learning content that meets the needs of our target audience.
