Free and fully resourced, the Water Explorer programme empowers future generations through fun, interactive water-saving Missions displayed through an online platform. As Water Explorer students grow into global citizens and ambassadors for positive change. We are now calling on fresh Water Explorers from around the world to continue the challenge and fill our future with water for all. Hear first-hand how one of our 2016 finalist schools found the programme: Impact So far 46,000 Water Explorers have made a real splash and saved an astounding 5 million m3 of water, 13 million kg of CO2 and held 150 Water Festivals world-wide. Behind these numbers are many stories of Water Explorers taking action. For example, the CEIP Mata Linares team from Spain approached the local authority and successfully managed to get a new waste oil container added to the recycling facilities and our Wyebank Water Warriors from South Africa were awarded the internationally acclaimed WAF Youth Award. These are just two examples of the hundreds of Water Explorer teams that are using creative ideas to take action, reduce their water footprint and empower others to do the same. You can dip in at any point throughout the year and for the length of time that suits you. All of the Challenges are fully resourced and student-led, so the programme requires very little planning. However you choose to dip in, you will gain: • Access to hundreds of lesson-ready resources • The chance to win prizes and awards that recognise students’ achievements • The opportunity for children to immerse themselves in a global issue An international focus With 2126 enthusiastic teams spanning 11 countries, Water Explorer gives students the opportunity to link with their fellow Water Explorers across oceans on an international scale. An innovative way to enthuse future generations to be global citizens, acting locally and thinking globally. In the United Kingdom Eco-clubs are welcome to delve into our water saving Missions and join our Water Explorer community. For those groups with a thirst for science, Water Explorer challenges can be used as a basis for a CREST Bronze Award.
