The Challenge

Following the launch of its internal sustainability strategy, Tata Consultancy Services approached us to translate high-level messages and make them relevant to staff through everyday, practical actions.

How we helped

We boosted current networks of champions who were interested in improving their office environments and recruited others who were keen to get involved. We trained and supported them through webinars, toolkits and regular check-ins so they could guide colleagues through campaigns focusing on energy, waste and travel.

We provided practical guidance on how to create visual displays, shared case studies of staff demonstrating good practice and took the EcoInteractives on a roadshow from Liverpool to London. Champions then brought their ideas to life by making them relevant to their office, linking them with other office campaigns on health and wellbeing.

By securing the buy-in of the most senior regional staff member we made sure cultural change was supported from the top. Ensuring this backing was visible in the campaigns through emails and weekly bulletins gave staff the permission to take part. This allowed the positive attitude and creativity of the champions to flourish and produce results.
