Newsletter: Happy world environment day
(05/06/19)

Today is World Environment Day - this year's theme is air pollution, and we're hitting the news today with our Clean Air Day media story about indoor air pollution. Read more about this and other updates on how we're working to connect what's good for us, and good for the planet.

Clean Air Day in the news: how toxic is your home?

A young man standing in his kitchen

A new report into the state of air pollution in UK households has found that our homes are experiencing dangerous levels of indoor air pollution.

The report, from Clean Air Day partners Airtopia, analyses data from 47 homes in Birmingham, London and the Home Counties.

Formaldehyde, among other air pollutants, was identified as one of the most toxic pollutants prevalent in UK homes. A fifth of UK homes showed significant levels of formaldehyde with 13% of properties exceeding World Health Organization (WHO) guideline limits.

Our Climate Chaos Response Toolkit hits the internet!

A group young people striking about the climate

Passionate students are not a new thing. But the recent global walkout of over 1.4 million young people over the lack of Climate Action is unprecedented. This is new territory for schools, so we created The Climate Chaos Response toolkit.

It's a free, practical resource to provide simple tools to support school leadership teams and governors to develop or build on their school’s positive response to the climate chaos.

The toolkit has been getting a really great response so far. Download your own copy, and let us know what you do with it.

Youth Social Action Day: The iWill Campaign #ThePowerofYouth

#iwill Poewr of Youth Shaking up Stereotypes. Celebrate youth social action day 5th june

All young people should be supported and empowered to be active citizens. That's why the #iwill campaign, made up of 1,000+ partner organisations, aims to make participation in social action the norm for young people aged 10 to 20. Global Action Plan is working with the iWill campaign and we have made an iWill for nature pledge for their Year of Green Action. We're also supporting Youth Social Action Day today.
