Air pollution: A youthful appetite for action

The latest results of our Clean Air Public Insight Tracker are in and available to read on our website. They show a clear positive approach to action from young people, with 42% of 18-30 year olds believing that their personal actions can make a positive difference to the quality of air that they breathe, compared with only 21% of those aged 55 and older.

Other findings show a disconnect between understanding the actions that make a difference to air quality and the numbers who actually take that action. We also saw a gender split around preferred solutions for air pollution, with men favouring electric vehicles as the solution and women suggesting a more varied approach.48% of our survey respondents believed cleaning up the air was the national government's responsibility. The Clean Air Public Insight Tracker is commissioned by Global Action Plan and Clean Air Day partners Opinium and provides the first UK-wide regular monitoring of attitudes and behaviours about air pollution.

Celebrating Water Explorers this autumn

We're looking forward to our annual autumnal celebrations for Water Explorer, our award-winning water-saving schools programme funded by HSBC. Teams of winning Water Explorers come from over the world to present their winning water-saving campaigns at the HSBC London headquarters in Canary Wharf. We can't wait to hear about how they are all working hard to inspire change and save water in their communities.
