Good Life Schools programme expands into primary schools
Global Action Plan’s Good Life Schools programme is expanding to include children aged 9-11, embedding youth-led environmental and community action earlier in education and inspiring a new generation of changemakers.
The aim of the programme is to support pupils to reflect critically on issues that affect their lives, nurture compassionate values, and empower young people to lead projects that improve nature, tackle climate challenges, and strengthen wellbeing in their communities.
Good Life Schools Primary will be delivered in partnership with ASSET Education, with support from the #iwill Fund, an initiative funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport.
We are co-designing the programme with a group a young representatives from ASSET schools, known as the ASSET Arrows. These young people have so far taken part in workshops exploring ideas around consumerism and marketing, as well as making wind chimes from sustainable materials fathered from the forest and beach.
Working with the ASSET Arrows is demonstrating how powerful it is when young people shape their own learning experiences. We are committed to making Good Life Schools Primary as child-led, participative and hands-on as possible.
