Clean Air Night 2025

(22/01/25)

Tonight is the night! Thank you to all the organisations, local authorities and campaigners who have already started to spread the word about the health harms of wood burning pollution this winter – it’s brilliant to see so many conversations taking place about this burning issue.

Wood burning smoke contains fine particle air pollution (PM2.5), which enters your bloodstream when inhaled and causes heart and lung disease, diabetes, and dementia. Even homes using newer “Ecodesign” wood burners are three times more polluted than those without.

It’s really important that everyone has the facts so we can all make informed decisions about how to heat our homes. We hope you will join us today by spotlighting the uncomfortable truth about wood burning.

If you haven’t got involved yet, it’s not too late! We have created a range of communications resources to make it as easy as possible for you to take part in Clean Air Night and share the health harms of wood burning pollution today.

The comms pack contains social media posts, newsletter templates, posters and leaflets that you can use to spread the word (there are also Welsh versions of the resources – get them here).

Download your free communications toolkit now and get posting to help spark conversations about the harms of wood burning this Clean Air Night.
