Over the five years that it runs, our Catalyst Youth programme will train 150 young people, giving them further support through a mentoring programme. This will focus on their continued personal development.

Of these 150, 25 will be employed directly by GAP on a one year, full-time placement basis. At GAP we aspire to a future where more people make sustainable choices. If you join us, you will work on a broad range of environmental behaviour change programmes, gaining exposure to a variety of clients, picking up valuable skills and markedly increasing your overall employability.

The demand for places on the programme is high so we consider the following criteria when deciding who to offer the workshop to:

  • Length of time unemployed (those who have been unemployed for longer may be given greater consideration for a place);
  • Understanding of GAP and the Catalyst programme;
  • Evidence of interest in engaging with the environment/sustainability; and
  • The relevance and usefulness of skills and experience to GAP's work.

Academic qualifications are not required. However in the absence of these, previous office based experience is essential.

GAP is a dynamic charity so we are looking for you to be:

  • self-motivated and passionate
  • committed to your own personal development
  • adaptable and flexible
  • highly organised
  • a good communicator – both written and verbal
  • a confident and friendly speaker
  • able to communicate complex ideas clearly
  • happy and confident to work on your own but also able to work well as part of a team

If you feel you meet all of the above, please fill in and submit the application form, which you will find here.
