Action on Air Pollution Collaboration and Public Health at Scale Executive Summary Air pollution is a critical issue for the health sector. Each year in theUK over 40,000 people die due to poor air quality. More than 9,500 ofthose premature deaths occur in London. These deaths are caused bylong-term exposure to airborne pollution with local particulate matterattributing between 6.3-8.3% towards total premature mortality in Londonboroughs alone.
