Tom joined GAP as part of the 2015 Catalyst programme after graduating with a BSc International Relations & Global Development (Joint Honours) degree in 2014 for which he received the IR and Development prize for academic achievement.

During his degree, he volunteered in the British Red Cross Refugee Services as a refugee caseworker in which he was runner-up Student Volunteer of the Year (2014) at the University of Derby. Since, Tom has led cross-cultural teams on natural resource management and sustainable livelihood projects in rural communities in Nicaragua.

He’s involved with a variety of projects including retail, healthcare and community programmes. Tom’s really excited to be working on a community project with his fellow catalysts which is themed around local seasonal food.
