Youth unemployment: How many young people can we help?
Youth unemployment: How many young people can we help?
The government has announced staggering unemployment figures, but we are proud to offer training and support to thousands so they don’t have to join the unemployment line.
National Citizen Service and Global Action Plan
Through the government’s flagship National Citizen Programme 30,000 young people will overcome challenges and learn new skills that will get them into further education or employment. Young people will gain the confidence they need to become active citizens and take pride in their local communities.
In 2012 we will be recruiting in Greenwich, Tower Hamlets and Lambeth, and we are currently seeking match funding from businesses to ensure young people benefit from the best possible programme.

Green skills for a new economy
There are lots of other ways that Global Action Plan is ensuring that young people are part of the transition to the low carbon economy. Through a partnership with a major corporate foundation, we are developing a green skills programme that will allow more 1,300 young people to access to six-month internships, BTEC qualifications, and support to create a sustainability project in their community.
With programmes like these, we can ensure that young people contribute to a better, more sustainable society. Trewin Restorick, CEO, Global Action Plan.
