We help nearly 1 million Chinese students learn about climate change
Global Action Plan in China
Jenni Wiggle and Rowan Boase from our schools team went to China in April this year to work with schools.
Through Global Action Plan’s partnership work with the British Council in China, Rowan and Jenni trained 382 teachers, who recruit at least 10-15 students to run Green Your School projects in their schools.
This means approximately 5,730 students will participate in the Green Your School programme.
And with around 2,500 students attending your average Chinese secondary school, nearly one million (955,000) students will be reached by the programme.
The impact of our training and the implementation of the Green Your School programme has been really positive. The Chinese teachers we work with are passionate about communicating climate change in an engaging and empowering way. They value the opportunity the British Council provides to participate in Global Action Plan training where they learn new teaching methodologies, share ideas and experience positive cultural exchange.
