What is an EMS?

An EMS simply helps you do what you do but with a reduced impact on the environment. This keeps costs and risk down whilst ensuring your business remains being efficient and competitive. Additionally, more and more companies are looking for suppliers with environmental accreditations.

What is EMS Easy?

EMS Easy is a smart, informal and lean way of implementing an EMS. Clients using this process are realising reduced implementation costs through less staff and consultancy resources, reduced certification costs, and quicker implementation compared to traditional methods. With this method, ISO 14001 is now available to even sole-traders.

Until now, achieving and maintaining your environmental standards to ISO 14001 would have required a full time employee. However, the EMS Easy system is so easy to use — you just fill in the blanks and keep an eye on things each month to make sure you're up to scratch. Brought to you in partnership with the Mayor of London's Green Procurement Code

The seminar is in partnership with the Mayor of London's Green Procurement Code (MGPC). The MGPC is a London Development Agency-funded programme that provides support for improving the sustainability of an organisation's purchasing practices.

Each year a progress review is carried out whereby signatories are asked to provide information on their procurement practices in the form of an online questionnaire. An independent auditor then verifies the answers given and a level is then achieved (Bronze, Silver or Gold).

You will hear from a consultant representing the code about how adopting EMS can help your organisation to achieve Bronze, Silver or even Gold on the annual MGPC progress review as well as improving the sustainability or your organisation’s procurement process.

Please note the next EMS easy training series starts on Wednesday 17 February 2010. Find out more
