We can assist developments in complying with the Code for Sustainable Homes and Part L Building Regulations. With the benchmark rising each year and the potential for increased regulations on refurbishment, we can make sure you comply.
Client list includes: North Devon District Council, Somerset County Council, Opticop Developments, St John’s Garden Centre, Woodward Smith Architects.
BREEAM
Global Action Plan offers BREEAM assessments of office, commercial retail units, and for the Code for Sustainable Homes. We use certified BREEAM assessors so you can be sure your building complies with regulations. We can also help you make your building as sustainable as possible within budget constraints.
The BRE’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) categorises non-domestic buildings according to environmental performance on a scale from pass to outstanding. There are currently 14 schemes for different categories of property including retail, offices, education and communities.
Planning permission and BREEAM
Increasing numbers of Local Authorities are introducing a planning policy requirement that in order to gain planning permission, new non-domestic developments must achieve very good or excellent BREEAM ratings.
BREEAM can also be used as a way of benchmarking your building’s environmental performance against that of other similar buildings. BREEAM can also be used for domestic developments under the Code for Sustainable Homes regulations.
Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)
Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) have real value when they help give your property a market advantage but also in giving guidance on how you can reduce energy costs. By combining our certification with a knowledge and commitment to reduce costs and carbon we can make sure your EPC gives you real advantage.
We combine technical knowledge with a commitment to make sure our clients are enabled to reduce costs and related carbon emissions resulting in higher market value. Our assessors will provide a detailed assessment of the building’s current performance and suggest practical solutions to increase efficiencies based on sound judgement.
