Sustainable City Awards competition: November 2008
Are you proud of your organisation's sustainability credentials? Can you demonstrate that your organisation has a commitment to continual improvement in its environmental performance?
Then it's time to be recognised for it!
The Awards recognise outstanding achievement in sustainable development by businesses, public sector and voluntary organisations.
The Awards are the UK's FOREMOST sustainability award scheme, and received accreditation from the RSA in 2004. They've also been selected as one of six national feeder schemes for the European Business Awards for the Environment.
There are 8 award categories:
- Environmental Management in SMEs (London-wide)
- Sustainable Procurement (UK-wide)
- Sustainable Food (London-wide)
- Sustainable and Ethical Investment and Asset Management (UK-wide)
- Contributing to Tackling Climate Change (UK-wide)
- Traffic Reduction and Transport Management (UK-wide)
- Resource Conservation (UK-wide)
- Access to Goods & Services for Disadvantaged Communities (London-wide)
- Sustainable Buildings (UK-wide)
Shortlisted entries will receive City of London SCA Certificates.
Category winners and highly commended entries will receive specially commissioned trophies.
The overall winner will receive the Sustainable City Trophy.
There will also be a prize awarded for excellence in sustainable leadership.
All applicants will be invited to the award ceremony to be held at Mansion House, the Lord Mayor's official residence, in February 2009.
There is no limit to the number of categories you can enter but you will need to submit a form for each category and you can only enter each category once.
The closing date for applications is Monday 5th December 2008.
