Sky Partnership

Global Action Plan and Sky

Following a nationwide search Sky chose Global Action Plan as its new charity partner early in 2008. The three-year partnership aims to raise over £2 million and to use Sky's resources and experience to help Global Action Plan reach out across the UK and Ireland, so that they can inspire Sky customers and staff, as well as the wider community, to make positive changes in their daily lives to address environmental issues.

Global Action Plan was chosen from a shortlist of five charities, following applications from over 170 organisations. The decision was made following consultation with Sky's staff and customers as well as a panel made up of members of the Executive Team and independent advisors.

Trewin Restorick, CEO of Global Action Plan said:

"Our partnership with Sky will be transformational for our organisation. With Sky reaching one in three families across the UK and Ireland, we have the potential to inspire action across our communities to help more people make positive changes in their daily lives. By working together and making small changes, we can have a big impact on climate change."

Jeremy Darroch, CEO of Sky commented:

"Combining Sky's resources and reach with Global Action Plan's expertise and practical, fun approach means we can move faster and further in helping and inspiring others to join us and live a low carbon lifestyle. We are already working closely with Global Action Plan to develop our three-year programme, which we look forward to announcing in due course."
