Our Sustainable Future event: 4000 young voices, 1 green vision and you
Sustainable Future event
On 24th February 2011, Global Action Plan is holding an event to present and develop the Greenprint Vision of a low carbon future, as envisaged by young people.
Do you want to find out first hand how the next generation of customers and employees feels about the future of GM food, air miles, population control and beloved Sunday Roasts?
We recognise the importance of involving young people in designing and delivering our low carbon future – after all, they will be living with the legacy of our choices today. So we asked them about it.
The Vision
Thousands of young people have collaborated to create a forward thinking vision of an achievable low carbon world. An interactive digital illustration of ‘Greenprint to 2020’ will be launched at the event addressing the following topics:
- Home and Life
- Learning and Work
- Power
- Food
- Travel
The Event
The purpose of the event is to share our findings and gather together a host of key decision makers to determine how we can put the vision into action and get ahead in the race towards sustainability.
Guests will include leading businesses, policy makers, civil society organisations and some of the brightest young people all with the insight and drive to make this transition happen.
We are delighted to announce that Business Woman of the Year, Laura Tenison, will discuss the role of young people in designing and delivering sustainable business solutions.
The Party
We will also be celebrating the achievements of our youth volunteering programme, Climate Squad, and hearing directly from our young sustainability superstars including lessons learnt and how to generate real and long lasting impacts.
