How we work with schools
Global Action Plan works with schools to get young people involved in practical activities that make a difference to their school and the environment.
We work with all schools and offer a range of programmes. They are right for everyone who wants to learn more about climate change, and those who want do something about it.
Our most successful programme is Action at School.
Action at School
Action at School is an environmental programme that helps schools to save money and resources, like energy. The programme deals with waste, water, energy or travel over 3 terms.

Appetite for Action is an educational website for primary schools. It's all about food and the environment. It offers 3 different challenges to get students thinking about food, and there are even some prizes involved.
Appetite for Action is one of the many projects that Sky has helped us to achieve through our 3-year partnership.

Practical change and activities which can make a real difference
Our work with schools has social and environmental benefits. Our programmes are proven to work, and because of this have been endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). They are great because:
- We work across different areas of sustainability including food, energy, water, and waste.
- Our programmes are measured, so the difference a school makes to the environment and their bills is clear.
- We achieve a shift in behaviour, so that effects are long-lasting for the school and everyone involved.
- We bring fresh thinking to activities, so a school can build on what's in place or start something new.
