Greening the SMEs in your supply chain
Greening the SMEs in your supply chain
Companies’ green policies are not reaching SME suppliers. What is stopping procurement teams from demanding better?
Our research shows that the green claims of large companies are not reaching small businesses in the supply chain.
Initial conversations with supply chain managers have shown that while environmental performance of large suppliers has improved, small businesses are being left out, leaving them at risk of reputational damage and unnecessary inefficiency.
On the 27th of October, we will be convening a group of supply chain managers, including sector leaders Mitie, to collaborate and discover how to bring small suppliers in line with best practice.
The event, to be held at 15Hatfields, is part of a larger discussion group to show how companies can shed light on all parts of their supply chain and overcome the barriers to better environmental performance.
85% of small businesses to do not have an environmental management system, even though it’s not complicated or expensive to put one in place. We hear both suppliers and supply chain managers say they want better environmental performance. Our event will help companies explore how they can achieve that from all the businesses in their supply chain. Trewin Restorick, CEO, Global Action Plan
