Our work caught the eye of environmental scientist Jay Neale. Now he and two friends are fundraising as a team for Global Action Plan.

Team Arktix is Jay Neale, Andy Bruce and Oliver Sinclair. Three friends united by a desire to inspire people and show that anyone can make a difference.

Team Arktix is taking on Polar Challenge 2011 to show that nothing should dictate the limit of personal potential to effect change.

Why fundraise for Global Action Plan?

We’re all aware of the environment around us & the dangers it faces as a result of human actions. With an active interest in living our lives in a sustainable way, we wanted to raise money for a cause not only close to our hearts but also of great importance to a wider audience. Global Action Plan, as a charity focused on generating positive environmental & social outcomes through behavioural change, was an obvious match. Jay, Andy & Oliver, Team Arktix

What is Polar Challenge 2011?

The Challenge is an extreme endurance race, billed as one of the toughest events on the planet. Competitors use cross-country skis to race over 370 miles to the magnetic North Pole. Success will require teamwork, communication, an inclusive approach and masses of perseverance.

How is much is Team Arktix hoping to raise?

We hope to raise over £30,000 to fund development of an online toolkit for Global Action Plan’s Action at School environmental programme.

We noticed that individuals or teams often raise money for charities in a general sense, which is great, but we'd decided from an early stage that we really wanted the money to go to something specific.
