EcoTeams at the Centre for Alternative Technology

Global Action Plan has linked up with the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales to let CAT’s visitors know all about EcoTeams.

Cara Walker is based at CAT letting people know how they can get involved with EcoTeams and make positive changes to their everyday lives. So come down to the Centre’s Whole Home exhibit and meet Cara to find out more.

What is CAT?

The Centre for Alternative Technology is a fun, educational and interactive park which demonstrates practical ways we can address issues such as climate change. Areas include how to grow organic, create your own energy and a brand new bee hut showing how important and impressive our busy buzzy friends are.

What’s the EcoTeam programme about?

EcoTeams is an easy step-by-step guide for people to take actions to lighten their load on the planet, whilst measuring the difference they make with friends, having fun and saving some Great British pounds.

During the programme, EcoTeamers will discuss topics such as energy, rubbish and water to help make carbon and money saving decisions, benefiting both themselves and the environment.

What are EcoTeams?

EcoTeams are individuals, friends, neighbours or colleagues who get together regularly to discuss and take actions on a number of environmental topics.

Saving money and carbon

An average home taking part in EcoTeams makes an annual saving of £170 and 1 tonne of carbon

EcoTeams are an important way of empowering people. I’m really excited to be involved in such an interesting project based at CAT, a place which has already inspired so many to make important lifestyles changes. Cara Walker, Community Officer at Global Action Plan.
