We would like to thank everyone who took part in the Step into the Community initiative to raise vital funds for Global Action Plan UK on the 17 November 2007.

A total of 23,298,003 steps were registered by over 1,100 employees, their friends and families. Whilst this translates to a £23,298 contribution to Global Action Plan UK, Citi UK has decided to increase this donation to £40,000!

The £40,000 donation will fund two projects:

1. The delivery of the Action at School project with ten schools in the UK, training 250 students and teachers and helping 10,000 students, as well as 1000’s more in the wider community to improve their environmental behaviours.
2. The production of an interactive online version of Action at School based around the topic of food, incorporating lesson plans, teaching resources, games and classroom activities to encourage action; the online version will be accessible to all schools across the UK.

Global Action Plan UK will deliver and implement this project and bring to life this amazing donation within the next 12 months.

To date Global Action Plan has worked with over 210 schools across the UK through its Action at School programme, helping over 180,000 students to make positive changes in their everyday lives. By working with schools, Global Action Plan reach out into the wider community helping to positively influence behaviours across generations.
