Global Action Plan and Southern Water expand their partnership to help school communities save water, energy and money.

Global Action Plan is delighted to announce that the secondary schools initiative, Aqua Innovation, will be running for its second year in partnership with Southern Water.

About Aqua Innovation

The programme is a KS3 initiative aimed at getting secondary school students interested and involved in saving water and improving the sustainability of their school. It tasks students to design a product, service or campaign that will reduce the water wastage.

Getting students involved

Students get involved with whole school community to change attitudes and behaviours towards water use. This year, the programme will support a further 10 schools across the South East to create their own water-saving solutions and compete for a top prize.

Changing how schools use water

The programme comes as Southern Water is installing 500,000 water meters for customers across the South East to help secure the water resource for the future.

With drought hitting the South East earlier this year, water continues to be a pressing issue. Aqua Innovation gives young people the opportunity to think creatively and make measurable and meaningful change for a real-life problem.
