Andrew Johnston

Where did you first hear about Greenprint 2020?

I was browsing the V inspired website and, at the time, I was a recent graduate looking to continue developing the skills I gained at university. I wanted to devote my time to a cause that I’m passionate about.

Greenprint 2020 ticked both boxes and the next thing I knew I was at the two-day Leadership training course in London.

What have you been involved with in Greenprint 2020?

Since joining I have been involved with a variety of exciting projects, such as Operation Blackout. However, my main focus has been setting up a new community project called the ‘e-Clinic’ , which aims to tackle the growing issue of Electronic Waste (WEEE).

With the support of Greenprint 2020 the initial idea has gone straight through to roll out, and the first event was held in Brixton on 9th October.  We are hoping to bring e-Clinics to universities in the near future.

What do you love about Greenprint 2020?

I like the practical approach to climate change.  There is a lot of talk surrounding the climate issue – it is good to see so many people getting hands on.

Top green tip?

Turn your laptop or computer off when you aren’t using it!  It’s a really easy thing to get into the habit of and saves a lot of energy.

What do you typically do on a Sunday morning?

Not much if I can help it - I have a busy day job during the week and I treasure my weekends!

Favourite biscuit?

Chocolate chip cookies – especially when they’re freshly made and soft in the middle.
