A qualified commercial lawyer and former environmental policy adviser, Hugh has developed and overseen a number of high-profile environmental behaviour change programmes.

Hugh has particular expertise in working with vulnerable households. He previously led a programme which established a community engagement platform, helping nearly 7,000 households across Yorkshire and the north-west to switch to a better energy tariff. Since joining GAP, he has led on the development of youth training and communities programmes.

A passionate community activist, Hugh is a trustee of several not-for-profit organisations in the north of England. He has also worked extensively with schools and community groups to secure funding for energy, sports and creative arts-related programmes.
